Mayo Clinic and Sheba Medical Center sign agreement to accelerate health technology growth

Newswise – ROCHESTER, Minnesota, and TEL AVIV, Israel – Mayo Clinic and Sheba Medical Center have signed an agreement that will make it easier to share health technologies and support start-ups. This collaboration will create an environment that enables rapid product development in the US and Israeli markets, enabling the establishment and launch of technologies to transform the delivery of healthcare for all.

The initial focus of this collaboration will be on cross-referencing and participation of start-up companies from the Mayo Clinic Platform Accelerate and the ARC Innovation Center at Sheba Medical Center. ARC stands for Accelerate, Redesign and Collaborate.

Launched earlier this year, the Mayo Clinic Platform_Accelerate program helps early-stage health technology AI companies become market-ready. The Mayo Clinic Platform is a strategic initiative to improve healthcare through data-derived insights and insights. ARC Innovation Center brings together physicians, researchers, startups, industry leaders, academics, investors, and leading medical centers to rethink healthcare.

“We are excited to continue to grow our innovation ecosystem with Sheba Medical Center to address complex healthcare challenges,” said John Halamka, MD, president of Mayo Clinic Platform. “This agreement gives Mayo Clinic and Sheba a first look at technologies that can transform patient care on a global scale.”

Eyal Zimlichman, MD, Chief Information and Transformation Officer at ARC Innovation Center, adds, “As two leading healthcare organizations, Sheba Medical Center and Mayo Clinic are committed to transforming global health. This collaboration will allow us to accelerate the development and large-scale implementation of cutting-edge technologies. And ultimately, this work will bring value to patients, families and communities. We look forward to the journey ahead of us.

Leaders of Mayo Clinic and Sheba Medical Center signed the agreement at the sixth annual Mayo-Sheba Cardiovascular Symposium to be held June 26-28 at the ARC Innovation Center on the Sheba Medical Center campus in Tel Aviv.

The collaboration between the two organizations began in 2016 by bringing together cardiology and nephrology experts from the Mayo Clinic and Sheba Medical Center to share information and expertise to improve patient care.
