DeepRoute partners with Guangming Lab to advance self-driving technology

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On September 28, Chinese self-driving solution provider DeepRoute entered into a strategic cooperation with Guangdong Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy Laboratory (Shenzhen) (“Guangming Laboratory” for short) to promote the development and application of self-driving technologies. autonomous L4.

Under the cooperation, the two sides will conduct L4 autonomous vehicle test drives in Shenzhen’s Guangming District, jointly build a university workstation, and promote the innovation and application of L4 autonomous driving technology. The cooperation means a communication bridge between DeepRoute and important scientific research institutions, offering a new approach for the integration of “industry-academia-research” innovation in the field of autonomous driving.

The self-driving vehicle test drive section connects the Guangming Laboratory and the Guangming District Government, passing through hospitals, schools, subway stations and other public areas. Using the multi-sensor fusion detection algorithm and decision planning algorithm developed by DeepRoute, the vehicle can identify obstacles over 200m away, avoid pedestrians and make optimal driving decisions in complex traffic conditions. DeepRoute is currently the only company conducting self-driving test drives in Shenzhen’s Guangming District. The tests will help the company facilitate the commercial application of self-driving technology in the district.

On the other hand, the academic workstation which will be jointly built by DeepRoute and the Guangming laboratory will be used for 3 years. DeepRoute’s R&D staff will cooperate with Guangming Laboratory’s scientific research staff to optimize the L4 autonomous driving system in terms of perception, positioning and collaborative decision-making.
