SAN FRANCISCO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–CircleCIthe leading continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) platform, today announced Webhooks CircleCIa feature that allows software engineering teams to build integrations that react to status notifications from CircleCI tasks and workflows.

To research shows that the level of performance of a software engineering team is a key indicator of the success of a company. Improving performance is about empowering developers, creating the right environment for them to innovate, and removing friction points. The availability of CircleCI webhooks provides the opportunity to streamline developer workflow and increase engineering speed which ultimately leads to business success.

“As teams continue to increase the frequency of releasing complex applications and services, observable CI/CD pipelines are more critical than ever. “Collecting, enriching and correlating data from disparate sources in the modern DevOps toolchain is one of the biggest challenges facing engineering teams today,” said Drew Horn, director business development, Sumo Logic. “With CircleCI webhooks, developers can now: With just a few clicks – send detailed, automatically instrumented pipeline data to Sumo Logic Continuous Intelligence Platform to benchmark and optimize their software delivery performance with in-depth insights and real-time end-to-end SDLC analysis.”

Users can use CircleCI webhooks to:

  • Increase developer productivity and efficiency: Developers and teams can build their own automation systems using real-time notifications of their continuous integration workflows and toolkit tasks.
  • Make more informed decisions: View and analyze job and workflow events as they occur, or notify incident management tools of pipeline updates.
  • Trigger real-time notifications: Create custom notification systems to alert when a task is complete, or use incident response tools to alert incidents to improve workflow and response.

“As enterprises continue to focus on software innovation to drive customer engagement and business growth, CircleCI webhooks provide a simple approach for DevOps teams to create and manage event-driven integrations and results. Together with Datadog and Sumo Logic, CircleCI is creating opportunities for these teams to improve transparency, while optimizing the quality of software and the stream of value they deliver to their end customers,” said Jim Mercer, Director DevOps and DevSecOps Research Center, IDC.
